Defender Jack Riddle bagged the Greene King Man of the Match Award this evening, for a fine defensive display against Barkingside at Lowfield.
It was only freakish and highly contentious goal in the final moments of the game that blotted the copy book and a chance of a clean sheet, but the Lowfield faithful agreed unanimously that Riddle should be presented with the prize, following the 2-1 win.
Barkingside barely troubled the home defence all game and it was largely down to Jack and his colleagues in the back line, that they never looked like conceding. Riddles partnership with Captain Jack Gibbs at the back has been the cornerstone of the Hoddesdon side in recent months, and Riddle himself has forced his name to be one of the first on the team sheet.
