FRESH FLAVOURS AT LOWFIELD AS NEW MATCHDAY MENU PROVES A HIT
Supporters heading to Lowfield this season can enjoy more than just the action on the pitch, with Hoddesdon Town Football Club unveiling a refreshed matchday food offering designed to deliver better quality, greater choice and competitive prices. The new menu has already been warmly received during home fixtures, giving supporters plenty of options whether they are after a quick snack, a hot meal before kick-off or something to enjoy at half-time.
The club’s House and Grounds team have worked hard behind the scenes to improve the matchday catering experience, looking carefully at the range of food available, how it is presented and the prices being charged. The result is a menu that offers familiar football favourites alongside a wider selection, while still keeping affordability firmly at the heart of the offering.
Supporters can choose from burgers at £4.00, cheeseburgers at £4.50 and hotdogs at £3.50, while jacket potatoes with cheese or beans are available for £3.75. Pukka pies, with chicken and vegetable or beef and vegetable options, are priced at £3.50, with a pot of gravy available for £1.00 for those wanting the complete matchday comfort-food experience.
The club has also introduced a selection of Greggs products, which have already proved extremely popular with supporters. Sausage rolls are available at £2.50, chicken, beef or cheese and onion slices at £3.50, and pepperoni or Margherita pizza slices at £3.50, giving fans an even wider variety of quick and convenient choices.
Chairman Stuart Varney said the changes are part of the club’s continued efforts to improve the experience for everyone visiting Lowfield. “We want people to come here and enjoy the whole afternoon or evening, not simply the 90 minutes of football. Good food, reasonably priced drinks and a welcoming clubhouse all contribute to that, and the response we have had to the new menu so far has been extremely encouraging.”
He added: “We are very conscious that families and supporters are watching what they spend, so it was important that we improved the quality without losing sight of value for money. We believe the menu gives people a really good range of choices at prices that remain competitive, and hopefully supporters feel they are getting a good deal when they visit us.”

Jacket Potato With Cheese And Beans Was A Huge Hit On Tuesday Evening
There is plenty available away from the kitchen too, with the Lowfield bar continuing to offer an excellent selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, alongside snacks and other refreshments throughout the afternoon or evening. Tea and coffee remain available at £1.20, while Dolce Gusto cappuccinos and lattes are priced at £2.50, making it easy to warm up during those colder autumn and winter fixtures.
A new ordering system has also been introduced to make service as straightforward as possible. Supporters should place their order for hot food and beverages at the bar, where both cash and card payments are accepted, before taking their receipt to the kitchen hatch to collect their food when it is ready. The revised system allows the bar and kitchen teams to keep orders organised while helping the kitchen concentrate on producing food quickly and consistently during busy periods. Clear signage around the clubhouse will remind supporters of the procedure, particularly at peak times around kick-off and during half-time.

Head of House and Grounds Adrian Lee said the positive reaction has made the work behind the scenes worthwhile. “A lot of thought has gone into trying to make the food offering better, from the products themselves to the pricing and the way the whole thing operates. We wanted something that felt like a proper step forward, while still keeping the sort of food people actually want when they come to a football match.”
Lee added: “The feedback has been really positive so far, which is great for everyone who has put the work in. We will keep listening to supporters and looking at ways we can improve, but it is really pleasing to see people enjoying the food and coming back for more.”
The improvements form part of the club’s wider ambition to make Lowfield a welcoming community venue where supporters can arrive early, meet friends, enjoy food and drink and make a full day of following the Lilywhites. With the refreshed menu already proving popular, Hoddesdon Town hope supporters will continue to make use of the facilities and support the club both on and off the pitch.
So next time you are at Lowfield, arrive hungry, place your order at the bar, take your receipt to the kitchen hatch and enjoy the new-look matchday menu. With good food, competitive prices and plenty of choice behind the bar, there has never been a better excuse to Eat, Drink and Support Local.
