Match Report: NW London 2-4 Hoddesdon Town
Hoddesdon Town secured a crucial three points with an impressive 4-2 victory away at NW London on Saturday.
The match started with some dangerous signs as NW London went close, hitting the post from a free kick in the 8th minute. Hoddesdon's Connor Bolton had a free kick opportunity two minutes later, but it found its way over the bar. The game was fast-paced and intense throughout, with NW London showing strong attacking play, but Hoddesdon's defence held firm.
In the 25th minute, NW London's Zahmoul had a shot well saved by Liam Nugent, who pushed it over the bar. Three minutes later, Jason Brown picked up the ball and, after his initial shot was saved, followed up to score and give Hoddesdon the lead. Just a minute later, Callum Bennison found Brown, who converted again to double the lead at 2-0.
The game continued at a furious pace, and just before halftime, NW London were awarded a penalty for handball, which Krasniki converted to make it 2-1 at the break.
Hoddesdon started the second half strongly, with Brown now turning provider and crossing for Connor Bolton to head in just 30 seconds after the restart, restoring a two-goal advantage at 3-1. NW London responded in the 58th minute when Zahmoul scored on the rebound after Nugent's initial save, bringing the score to 3-2.
In the 60th minute, George Hamill's free kick found the net, but the goal was disallowed for offside. Hoddesdon continued to press, with Harry Carter's shot saved in the 65th minute and Bolton narrowly missing the target in the 70th minute.
The decisive moment came in the 82nd minute when Carter broke forward, held up the ball, and passed to substitute Ben Clarke, who crossed for Jimmy Agnew to score a fantastic volley, his second goal for the club, sealing the 4-2 victory for Hoddesdon. Despite NW London's relentless effort, Hoddesdon held out for a well-deserved win.
Man of the Match was Jason Brown for his two goals and outstanding all-round performance.
