This coming Saturday, the first team travel to Newbury Forest FC on the hunt for three crucial points.
In what has been a barren spell for the Lilywhites of late, the first team are on a run of three consecutive defeats with their last victory being the 4-2 win in the cup at home to St Margaretsbury on the 3rd of October, and they now find themselves in the bottom 3 of the Thurlow Nunn Division 1 South. Although they have a few games in hand over the teams around them, now is the time to start cashing in on that advantage and moving themselves out of the danger zone.
Manager Simon Riddle will call upon the last league win on the 30th of September for inspiration. On that day, the lads were superb to a man, putting 5 goals past a decent Burnham Ramblers side without reply, showing they are capable of turning it on. However, another tricky away trip to 9th placed Newbury Forest will once again provide a stern test.
On Tuesday evening, Newbury put 7 goals past local rivals St Margaretsbury, and although they also conceded 3 goals, they are clearly not shy going forward. They have also registered wins already this season against the likes of Dunmow, Harlow, Wormley and Hutton and have a record of P14 W6 D2 L6 with a goal difference of -2.
Kick Off is 3pm and all travelling support is welcome.
The ground is:
