This game is being sponsored by The Varney Family, in memory of Chairman Stuart Varneys' and Committee member Elaine Phillips' father, Fred.
Fred Varney was a supporter of Hoddesdon Town for 75 years, and in his time an enthusiastic and dedicated member of the Committee. He passed away in 2011 at the age of eighty three, and as a tribute, his extended family members once again generously sponsor a Lilywhites home game in his memory.
Coming off the back of a heavy away defeat last time out at Benfleet, Riddles men will surely be looking to make amends and give a better account of themselves in the more familiar surroundings of Lowfield. The manager will also be hoping some of the selection headaches from the weekend have eased, with a number of players unavailable to him last time out.
These two teams should have had a fixture played between them already, but the reverse fixture at Southend Manors ground back in August was waved off by the match official just before kick off, due to the pitch being deemed unsafe to play, with large cracks, bare patches and an extremely dry surface being of particular concern. This time around, we hope Lowfield will be in pristine condition and ready to serve up a cracker between two teams in need of a win to lift them further up the table. At the time of writing, just 3 points separate the sides, with Hoddesdon having played five games fewer than the visitors.
The game kicks off at 3pm.
