Triple H (oddesdon): Time To Play The Game

'It's all about the game and how you play it, all about control and if you can take it. All about your debt and if you can pay it, it's all about pain and who's gonna make it...'
- Lemmy - Motorhead

After the conclusion of the final game of the season, it was time for the last three player awards of the year to be handed out.

Following a solid 2-1 away win to bottom placed Burnham Ramblers, chairman Stuart Varney presented the winners with their silverware as the season was wrapped up. At the presentation evening a week ago, the final three awards could not be given out as there were still two games left to go, and all three awards could have still gone to more than one player.

However, in the Burnham clubhouse after the game, the results were in.

Greene King Man of the Match

George Rankin scooped the prestigious Man of the Match award trophy, having been awarded the accolade no less than 5 times this season. Coupled with the 'Most Improved Player' award last week, it has been a year to celebrate for George and he continues to go from strength to strength for the Lilywhites.

Most Appearances

Following on from his four trophy haul at last week's presentation evening, Jack Gibbs collected the award for most appearances this season. It was a tight run thing with goalkeeper Liam Nugent pushing him all the way, but an injury to Nugent near the end of the season meant that Gibbs finished the campaign with 40 appearances in all competitions, ahead of Nugent's 37. George Rankin wasn't far behind, just one game behind Gibbs on 39 and Connor Bolton clocking 37 games.

Golden Boot

Having lead the goalscoring charts from early on in the season, it was no surprise that Connor Bolton was finally handed the club's Golden Boot Award. Connor's 67th minute strike on Saturday took his tally for the year to 13, six goals clear of both Callum Bennison and Dion Laughton on 7 each.

You can read all about the other awards handed out at our Presentation Evening last week, HERE.

We congratulate all of the award winners this season, and indeed the entire squad, management, committee and supporters, on a great season and we look forward to making more memories in the 2024/25 season.
