Hoddesdon Town Football Club is once again joining forces with Tottenham Hotspur this season to host teams from Spurs' prestigious Female Talent Pathway at their Lowfield ground. This exciting partnership will see Tottenham Hotspur’s Under-19 Development Squad, Emerging Talent Squad, and the Women’s Academy competing at Hoddesdon Town’s facilities.
The first game of the new season will take place on Tuesday the 29th of October as Tottenham Women Under 21 host FC Revolution in a 7pm kick off. Entry is free for all and you can come and watch the future of women's football strutting their stuff at Lowfield. Both the bar and tea bar will be open as usual.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Female Talent Pathway, which launched at the start of the 2020/21 season, provides an elite player development structure designed to identify and nurture female footballers across different age groups. By working closely with local grassroots clubs, the pathway offers talented players a series of footballing programmes aimed at helping them progress through the ranks to play at the highest level.
The programme, rooted in Tottenham’s holistic approach to player development, includes six tailored programmes for girls of different age groups and abilities, with opportunities to enter the system at various stages based on individual skills and circumstances. By providing a combination of technical coaching, sport science, medical support, and lifestyle guidance, Tottenham aims to help players reach their full potential.
The partnership between Hoddesdon Town FC and Tottenham Hotspur reflects the continued growth of women’s football in the UK, offering local players in Hertfordshire and North London access to top-tier training and development. Heather Cowan, Head of Women’s Football at Tottenham Hotspur, expressed her excitement about the pathway’s success, saying, “We are looking forward to seeing local girls progress through our pathway and eventually into our first team.”
Hoddesdon Town FC is proud to play a key role in facilitating this initiative, providing the platform for these young athletes to thrive and grow within the sport. The collaboration highlights both clubs’ commitment to promoting the development of women’s football in the region.
With the continued partnership, Hoddesdon Town will remain a crucial venue for Tottenham’s next generation of female football stars, as the Female Talent Pathway grows from strength to strength.
