Club Captain Jack Gibbs scooped the Greene King Man of the Match Award this weekend, reward for a dominant display both at the back and in front of goal.
It was Jack's goal that opened the scoring for the Lilywhites on Saturday, a deft dink over the advancing goalkeeper after latching onto a through ball, that sent Hoddesdon on their way to a convincing 4-1 victory. The Lowfield crowd were treated to a fabulous performance by the team after going 1-0 down in the 14th minute. However, as has often been the case this season, Simon Riddle's boys rallied and once again, overcame the odds to win the game in style.
And it was Jack's goal that started the comeback. A neat 1-2 with Harry Carter gave 'Gibbo' the perfect opportunity to level the game and he didn't let us down. Check out his lovely finish HERE.
Credit must also go to the rest of the team for a brilliant showing, especially in the second half, but we cannot fail to mention yet another heroic penalty save from our favourite viking, Liam Nugent. With the game finely poised at 1-1, Baker were awarded a penalty, and not for the first time in his Lilywhite career, Nugent was equal to it and pushed the ball to safety, ensuring that the lads went into the dressing room at half time on an even keel. You can watch that save, and Liam doing what he does best, HERE.
Second half goals from Connor Bolton, Ben Clarke and Jason Brown, saw Hoddesdon comfortably over the line, but it was Gibbs who was adjudged man of the match for his performance all over the pitch.
Jack is pictured receiving his prize from Chairman Stuart Varney.
