It
was the hardest thing I've ever done....the first 13/14 miles were
fairly ok-ish, but after that my legs decided to start hurting and my
feet started to get blisters, so the second half of the Marathon was
really tough with quite a bit of walking involved.
People kept telling me about 'the wall' and to be careful not to hit
it, well, at mile 18/19 I had really had enough and I just wanted to
go home, my legs weren't working and I still had 7 miles to go, I
really thought I wouldn't make it. It didn't help matters as I looked
to my right to see a runner being given Oxygen by St Johns Ambulance
officers!!. It was then I was staring straight at 'the wall', however,
I knew Rosanna would be at mile 24 so (even if I walked) I had to make
it that far, and when I got that far I was only 2 miles away from
finishing......I just wanted to finish.
