As a tribute to our former
Deputy Chairman, Stewart Edwards, who died on 13th February this year,
Hoddesdon Town Football Club is holding a Charity Football Match at
Lowfield on Sunday 17th September, kick off at 11 am. All proceeds will
go to the Leonard Cheshire Home in Dorchester, a Charity very close to
Stewart's heart for over 25 years. The opportunity will also be taken to
formally announce the addition of 'The Stewart Edwards Stadium' to the
name of the ground at Lowfield. The game will be:

HODDESDON TOWN PRESENT XI
The Hoddesdon Town Past XI
will include many of the players who got to know Stewart well during
their stay with the Club, and the squad will be made up of nearly thirty
former players. The full squad will be announced at the beginning of
September.
Entrance will be £5 with a
souvenir Programme and there will be a raffle for a star prize to be
announced nearer the date. Please come along to support this worthy
cause and renew acquaintances with the Hoddesdon stars of the late
eighties and early nineties. The kick-off time has been chosen to
prevent a clash with two big Premiership games that day, so there is no
excuse for not attending. It would be a fitting tribute to Stewart and
everything he did for the Club if we could send a sizeable
donation cheque to the Leonard Cheshire Home to help further their
fantastic work.
