As a third annual tribute to our former
Deputy Chairman, Stewart Edwards, who died on 13th February 2006,
Hoddesdon Town Football Club is holding an Old Boys Challenge Football Match at
Lowfield on Sunday 14th September, kick off at 3 p.m.. Proceeds are this
year going to the Club's Floodlight upgrade project, a project Stewart
would have wholeheartedly supported had he still been with us. The game will be:
A
HODDESDON TOWN PAST XI
V
ANOTHER
HODDESDON TOWN PAST XI
Both teams will include many
of the players who got to know Stewart well during their stay with the
Club, and up to thirty former players are expected to come along.
Weather permitting, the Club is hoping to make it into a Family Day
starting at midday, and youngsters will be invited to take part in a
penalty shoot-out competition before the main game.
Entrance will be £5 with a
souvenir Programme and there will be a raffle for a star prize to be
announced nearer the date. Please come along to support this worthy
cause and renew acquaintances with the Hoddesdon stars of the late
eighties and early nineties. The kick-off time is fairly fluid, but
sometime between 3 and 4 o'clock is the target. It would be another
fitting tribute to Stewart and everything he did for the Club if
we could raise a sizeable sum to help further improve the facilities at
Lowfield that Stewart helped to develop.
